Ice floes on the Powder River, Spring 2025. The spring thaw brings a tipping point moment where rivers, frozen thick through the winter, finally succumb to rising temperatures, sending shards of ice rushing down miles and miles of tributaries. This recording was made by Karlon Knudson on his ranch on the Powder River with Teri's Sound Design 833 and Sennheiser ORTF stereophonic mounted pair of microphones.
